In my professional practice, working with adults and young adults, I aim to create an environment where clients can rediscover their voices and restore their personal power. When we use our unique voice, we can confidently create and carry out unique solutions to our problems. I make it a priority to provide a non-judgmental space for clients to be open and feel supported.  I realize therapy is not a "one-size-fits-all" approach, and I will work with you to help you build practical skills. I will teach you about boundaries and the importance of honoring those for oneself and others. I utilize multiple modalities during the therapeutic process, including but not limited to CBT, DBT, ACT, Strength-Based, Solution-Focused, and Supportive. I always use a person-centered, strength-based approach as I recognize that each individual is unique and knows what they need and what is best for them. I aim to create room for clients to be met with compassion by themselves and by me. My ultimate goal is to build strong therapeutic relationships so that my clients can freely express their most authentic selves without fear of judgment.
I graduated from the College of St. Scholastica with a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work and a Master of Social Work. I am also a military combat veteran with over 10 years of active-duty service.
Outside of the office, I enjoy fishing, reading, and spending time with my family.

Meet our staff

Hi, my name is Max; I am a lab shepherd mix. My human is Billie, and we have been together for eight years. I am in the office most days my human is there. She works, and I sleep; that is a fair trade-off.

Andrew is a Duluth-based psychotherapist with immediate openings for in person sessions and virtual telehealth across Minnesota and the Twin Cities. Before becoming a therapist, he worked as a carpenter, and  brought practical and straightforward approaches to his clients.  He graduated from St. Scholastica's psychology program, and has experience in community-based services treating severe and persistent mental health issues. Many of the people he has worked with experience feelings of being stuck, overwhelmed, worn down by stress with mood issues. Therapy with Andrew focuses on understanding what is actually getting in the way and building tools that help people function.

He works with adults dealing with trauma, mood concerns, substance use, and neurodiversity. His approach is practical and straightforward.  He focuses on what is not working, what matters to his client, and what will help today. Together, he builds tools with you, so that you can better understand yourself and move forward in life.  He knows that starting therapy can feel like a big step, especially if you are not sure what to expect. He believes it takes courage to show up and talk openly and honestly with a therapist. His style is direct, supportive, and collaborative. He plans to focus on what matters for you and will help build more stability and confidence through relationship with a client.  He has immediate openings.
